Vision
The residents of Telangana State enjoy their basic human rights relating to life, liberty, equality and dignity of the individual guaranteed by the Constitution of India or embodied in the International covenants and enforceable by courts in India.
Mission
To achieve our vision, the Telangana Human Rights Commission:
- a) Spread human rights awareness among citizens, public servants and non-governmental organizations by way of conferences, trainings and dissemination of information relating to legal remedies for protection of Human Rights;
- b) Ensure better protection of human rights in accordance with the provisions of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993;
- c) To monitor the human rights situations in state run institutions like police stations, prisons, hospitals and institutions run by the state for the children, women, aged and other vulnerable sections of society like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Minorities;
- d) Encourage the efforts of non-governmental organizations and the institutions working in the field of human rights; and
- e)Undertake and promote research in the field of human rights.
